It may come as a surprise to some to find out that the CLT is actually one of the busiest airports in the world. Statistics prove that this establishment has been averaging between forty to fifty million visitors each and every year, with the only exception being 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic caused a worldwide flight ban.
And even during the pandemic, the airport still welcomed upwards to nearly thirty million visitors. This is still much more passengers than most airports see on average.
And with this many people expected to walk through the doors of the establishment, there has to be a way to meet the demands of everyone and in every aspect. One major aspect that is important to take into consideration is food.
Not only should the food choices that are offered at the airport be adequate to meet the standards of those visiting the airport, but the choices must also cater to a wide variety of palettes and beliefs.
As this is an international airport, people from all around the world are expected to visit. Providing a varied and ethnic cuisine is therefore a must.
Additionally, different people often have different dietary restrictions due to religion, morality, and health reasons, just to name a few. Therefore, the food offered at the Charlotte Airport food includes a variety of vegan/vegetarian options, halal and kosher options, and health-conscious food as well.
This ensures equity and a good time for everyone at the CLT!
Restaurants inside Charlotte Airport
One of the many great things about the CLT is that it only has one terminal. Thus, you do not have to worry about traveling from one terminal to another and wasting precious time. There are, however, five different concourses, but they are all within a short walking distance from one another.
This means that if your favorite restaurant happens to be located at a concourse that is different from the one your gate is at, it is not an issue to simply walk there and head back to your gate in time for your flight.
Just always be mindful of the time so that you do not miss your upcoming flight!
As there are different concourses, the Charlotte NC Airport restaurants are distributed amongst these concourses as well. This also includes the Atrium, which is the central zone of the terminal that is enclosed in glass, offering a beautiful view of the outside and natural sunlight into the airport.
The following is a brief list of some of the food in Charlotte Airport, categorized based on their locations. Familiarize yourself with the list so you can better understand what to expect and where to head.

The food options at the CLT extend beyond just the usual cafes and restaurants, as they also include the luxurious lounges that offer premium food.
Each lounge differs from the other in what it offers. However, many lounges provide an extravagant buffet for their guests along with complimentary drinks.
Some other lounges provide prepackaged food that their guests can even take with them on their next flights.
The lounges are a great place to have wonderful food and relax as much as possible before your flight.
